Bio – Alec Zimmerman

Mr. Zimmerman is a partner in the law firm of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and has over thirty years experience in the financial services field. He has been recognized as one of the leading lawyers in Canada in the areas of banking, financial institutions and insolvency and restructuring law.

From 2001 to 2006, he was a member of the Core Team seeking to incorporate a Canadian Schedule I chartered bank to serve the charitable sector. He also co-founded, and served as Executive Vice President and COO of NexgenRx Inc., an employee health benefit plan manager. Mr. Zimmerman serves as a Director of CanadaHelps, a registered charity that provides an online charitable donation portal for Canada’s charities. He is also a Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of J.P. Morgan Bank Canada, a Director and Chairman of the Board of Masterfile Corporation, and a member of the Advisory Panel to Wakefield Canada Inc.
