Teeing Off for Hope Drives $4,000 Donation
TORONTO, ON - Members
of the Canadian aviation community raised close to $4,000
for Hope Air last Friday at the fourth annual Piedmont Hawthorne
Golf Tournament, which took place at the Kleinburg Golf
Club north of Toronto.
The 66 participants played 18 holes each in support of Hope
Air, a registered, national charity that helps Canadians
in financial need travel to required medical care outside
their home communities.
“We’re honoured to have
Piedmont Hawthorne’s support behind us,” said
Jinnie Bradshaw, Executive Director of Hope Air. “This
tournament really shows their confidence in our work.”
Organizations that sponsored individual holes include Shell
Canada, the Canadian Business Aviation Association, Piedmont
Hawthorne, Field Aviation, T and S Heating and Air Conditioning,
Omar Snow Removal, Multiservice, Vision Transport, BC-S
General Contracting and the Marriott Hotel.
Enthusiastic participants at the afternoon luncheon applauded
Andrew Storey, Piedmont Hawthorne’s General Manager,
for donating his cash winnings from the 50/50 closest-to-the-pin
contest to Hope Air. His drive on number two white landed
about thirteen feet from the hole.
