Hope Air honours Mike Schwar as
Volunteer of the Month for April
Toronto May 2, 2008– Hope Air, the national charity that arranges Flights for Canadians in financial need to required medical care, is pleased to announce its current Volunteer of the Month: Volunteer Pilot Mike Schwar.
Based in Beaconsfield, Quebec, and a Volunteer Pilot since 2007, Mike has flown six Hope Air Missions during the past few months, flying Clients from Montreal to various cities for much needed medical care and treatment. Mike has already signed on to fly two Missions as a Hope Air Volunteer Pilot in May, and will be making a presentation about Hope Airs' Volunteer Pilot Program at the Grassroots Aviation Day in Ottawa on May 3, 2008.
In addition to giving of his time flying Hope Air Clients to their medical appointments, Mike is also working with fellow Hope Air Pilot David Megginson to kick-start a Base to support VPP Pilots in Eastern Ontario and Quebec.
VPP Manager Ian Campbell has high praise for Mike's invaluable contributions to Hope Air. "His passion for flying comes through in everything he does for Hope Air - from getting Clients to their appointments to offering to tell others about the service. Hope Air is very fortunate to have Mike as a key volunteer and we are very proud to honour him as Hope Air's Volunteer of the Month."
